Jensen Huang's commencement optimism isn't a rebuttal

Jensen Huang told CMU graduates that AI creates more jobs than it kills. And that warnings from Dario Amodei are, quote, 'not helpful.' The platform-shift framing isn't wrong. Every major computing wave created net new roles. PC era, internet era — both true. But Huang saying it from a commencement stage with zero numbers isn't an argument. It's a posture. Amodei specifically flagged entry-level white-collar jobs. That's a concrete, falsifiable claim about a specific cohort. Dismissing it as unhelpful is not a rebuttal. The data that would actually settle this — longitudinal displacement and replacement numbers broken down by job category — doesn't exist yet. We are early. The honest answer is we don't know. And 'we don't know' is more useful to a 22-year-old than a CEO's confidence.
