Devil Wears Prada 2 and the problem with touching perfect things

Okay so. The Devil Wears Prada 2 comes out tomorrow. And the day before — the literal day before — Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt got their Walk of Fame stars. Together. At the same ceremony. With Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon and Meryl Streep all showing up to speak. [pause] Which is beautiful. Genuinely. But also. That is the most aggressive press tour I have ever witnessed in my life. [chuckles] Here's the thing. The original is a perfect movie. It does not have a loose thread. There is nothing left to pull. And now the sequel's first scene is basically already the ceremony. They handed us the ending before the movie even started.
