Trump just purged five Indiana Republicans and Democrats learned nothing

Trump spent nine million dollars primarying five Indiana Republican state senators. Their crime? Voting against his redistricting map in December. [pause] Hoosier Leadership for America, American Leadership PAC — they ran ads calling these guys RINOs. Sixty to seventy-five percent margins. Gone. [pause] Jim Banks gets on Truth Social and says — I'm quoting — 'President Trump is the single most popular Republican among Hoosier voters.' He's not wrong. [pause] One incumbent survived. Greg Goode. Fifty-four percent. He told his colleagues to avoid the vitriol and focus on affordability. The party nearly ate him anyway. [pause] This is how you consume a party from the inside. You find the people who voted wrong once. You spend nine million dollars. You make an example. Now every Republican in every statehouse knows exactly what one vote costs them. [pause] And the Democratic Party is watching this and doing absolutely nothing with it. They can't even primary a bad Democrat. Trump is literally redrawing the map and our side is still writing strongly worded letters.
