Here's the thing. Roze AI is not a company yet. It's a bundle. SoftBank is taking an energy subsidiary, some land and real estate holdings, an ABB robotics unit they paid $5.4 billion for, and a story about robots that build data centers — and they're asking the market to price the story at $100 billion.

That's not a valuation. That's a press release with a cap table. The tell, and it's a clean one, is the Texas investor event KPMG has booked for July. A July roadshow for a company with no public revenue and an IPO timeline of "second half of 2026 at the earliest, maybe later." That's not confidence. That's a liquidity problem dressed up as a launch event. SoftBank has committed over $30 billion more to OpenAI on top of earlier bets, signed a $40 billion loan (their largest ever), and now needs somewhere to park the robotics and infrastructure exposure where it shows up as an asset rather than a liability.

The cableless server rack is real. The ABB unit is real. The ambition to automate data center construction is genuinely interesting. None of that is worth $100 billion on day one of existence. I've been wrong about Masayoshi Son before. Usually in the direction of underestimating the sheer size of the next bet.
